Natural Born Creep

Very Interesting
but, I think being born on a Naval Base, as I assume he was, constitutes being a NBC. Dammit.

McCain -- is he eligible to be president?
He does not meet requirements of the Constitution

A lot of naysayers have made light of the strict Constitutionist views of presidential candidates Alan Keyes, Ron Paul, and former candidate Tom Tancredo. Now, those men just might be in a position to have the final say over "mainstream" candidates such as Senator John McCain. Why? It turns out that Republican candidate McCain might need to drop out of the presidential race, despite his recent win in the Florida primary, because he is not eligible to fill the office of president.

John McCain is not a natural born citizen of the United States! He was born in the Panama Canal Zone.

There are only three requirements in the Constitution for the office of president. Article II, Section 1, Paragraph 5 requires that a candidate for president must be: a) a natural born citizen of the United States (emphasis added), b) at least 35 years of age, and c) having been a resident of the United States for at least 14 years. By its language, the Constitution — especially the Fourteenth Amendment — makes a distinction between a "citizen" and a "natural born citizen." A more lenient requirement to be only a "citizen," under Article I, Section 3, Paragraph 3, allows McCain to be a senator.

Yes, naval base = American soil.

Romney should have been asking the question (as a mantra), do we really want another career politician for the office. C'mon Mitt, sell yourself!

Well, I was born in a Naval Hospital too! Bethesda. That's not in the united states, is it?

But the only office I hold is President of my own home. Of course the wife has threatened legal action to remove me. The traitor!

Maybe McCain will pick Fred as his running mate. And then we can sue to have McCain removed after they win.

Voila, Fred is president.

I think he'd be a great president. He's just a crappy campaigner.

Unfortunately the only way I think he could get to be president is by being a VP first.

Does this mean we get Fred back?

Somebody needs to tell him.

As for me, I was born in East St. Louis, Illinois, which, mercifully, doesn't resemble much of the United States.

Maybe McCain will pick Huckabee so that when that cacinoma finally eats him we might get FairTax.

Good fun- but I'm sure everyone reading C&S is knowledgeable enough to know that being a natural born citizen is defined in law, and it has nothing to do with WHERE you are born. To be a natural born U.S. citizen, ONE of your parents must be a U.S. citizen, natural born or naturalized.

Barry Goldwater was born in the Arizona Territory.

I didn't see anyone question his right to run.

As a RINO, one thinks of McCain AS American soil(ed).

Don't go there, clmbake ... the secret service doesn't fuck around.

If you can't bring yourself to vote for McCain in order to vote against Hitlery, then write in Otto Von Bismark, and vote for Republicans for the House and Senate.

I know, a joke in poor taste. Sorry, you're right, the SS doesn't screw around and that was a comment able to be viewed as threatening. I may only hope he is very careful in his choice of VP, because his age may not be a good thing. If his VP is good, say FRED!, I'll vote for him.
