after just dealing with almost 150 vacation shots, that idea is brilliant ! Making one asap
A great idea. I would use some sort of small spool instead of the washer to reel the string on so it doesn't get knotted up. Use a six foot tape measure and it will reel itself up for you. He says to use string that won't stretch but the video clearly shows that he is using nylon cord - very stretchy. Anyone know what size that bolt is? 1/4-24?

So cool! I have a tripod I use on occasions especially when shooting in low light but it gets so cumbersome to haul around.
Thanks Rodger!

Excellent! Now to check out the Angelina Jolie slideshow.
Use any bolt that fits the threads on your camera. You might have one lying around.
It's hard to find a string that doesn't have a little stretch. I suppose you could get a length of lightweight chain and stand on that. Use a short piece of string to connect the bolt and chain.
The important thing is to have some resistance to push against when you hold the camera.
