"ahhh my eyes" is that what you meant ?
HOT DAMN!!!!!!!!!!! That is incredible.
But wait, what about the snail darter or some other road block? Let's start a pool to see how long it is until the wackos come up with "the" reason we can't drill there.
If this pans out, I can't believe how this will get our fat out of the fire.
MM
Can't drill there, it will interfere with our ICBM Silos...
RAK
Even if the reserves are drilled, you don't have the refining capacity to convert it into the products you need fast enough.
As I've said elsewhere, between what we've got in the ground, and what we can now make from our "plant trash" with the bacterium discovered, screw OPEC. THIS could indeed be the total salvation of our economy. As for the snail darter penguin of the high plains of Montana, sucks to be them. PETA or whoever tries to stop this, try them for sedition/treason and press on. THIS is what could well save America, and if they don't like it they can just go die someplace.
The land will sink after we take all of the oil...I just know it will! Ok, not really. But this doesn't bode well for ANWR drilling which we really need so I can get a job making a gazallion dollars.
MM, you are right. It is a nice start but my experience with this "technology" is that the reserves tend to be over estimated.
Yatalli
Naah. It won't be the snail darter. I'll probably end up being something along the lines of, 'You can't drill there, because that's the nesting habitat of the Mexican Free-tailed Illegal Alien!'
My guess is the objection will be "It's on sacred Indian burial grounds."
Whatever happened to killing them all and taking the oil? Is that wrong?
Casca
If any rare bird or animal shows up let me know where it is and I'll happily wipe it out and take the blame...worth it to free us from our saudi friends.
I have been in the oil and gas industry for 30 years and with the technology we have today there will never be a shortage of oil.
It may be $500/ bbl but it is there to be had. Shale, coal...
george
We should check other sacred Indian burial grounds then. Maybe petroleum comes from decomposing aboriginals and not T Rexeseses. Dang. Where does that plural end?
The current bottleneck is refinery capacity, not oil reserves.
Today's caution: Never Google "gusher" images without restrictions set. Who'd a thunk?..........HUH??
Hmmm... lets see... Google "gusher" w/o restrictions.................................................... EURIKA!!!
UhOh... I better not let mama see this.
The objection will be that some of that belongs to Canada (who?). Rodg, I think we should go ahead and invade Canada now, before the inevitable signs go up:
NO CANUCK BLOOD FOR OIL !
I'm back! Three house later and I'm back (after googling gushers on google/image). Well...what's cooking?
oy vey ole'
Just kidding!
