This is a visual definition of a "labor of love," or when a habit begins to cost some REAL money, it's called a hobby.

Saw a quote a few days ago while following links on Charlton Heston's death . . . donno who said it (it was in comments on a blog): "Banning gun shows to reduce violent crime will work about as well as banning auto shows to reduce drunken driving." Another commenter said, "Yeah, look how well that prohibition amendment worked out for Al Capone."

Anonymous said...: I know a guy who, with his wife's approval, had a gun room (with its own vault door) installed in his home.

I have another friend whose prior house had one.

Some people (no one we would call a friend) would find building a gun room obssessive, but I think it's quite practical.

The term "stock-piling" is not in my lexicon.

I bought a dozen (actually 13) high capacity Glock mags while the Va Tech shooting was still going on.

I buy ammo in calibers for which I don't even own guns, but you all understand that mindset.

That is why you are reading this and not HuffPo or Kos.

For the present, I am settling for 2 safes, which continue to get more and more crowded, but I will one day push (my luck) for a gun room.; 4/21/08, 11:57 AM

But heck, my vault holds 8 rifles and a handful or two of pistols, so I'm only 1,590 sq ft behind and a few hundred
