K-Ball

Play Ball

We spent the day in Virginny yesterday, and celebrated Rejuy's birthday by taking in grandson's ball game, followed by a great lunch.  First the good part.  In the crucial 5th inning (in a game the Massagers won by a run), the K-man, playing SS, registered two 6-3 putouts and the final out, with the bases loaded catch of a short center field fly ball. USA!

On the way home 495 (of course) was stopped dead.  Fortunately it was stopped right at the GW Parkway exit, which I jumped on and rode into DC.  I jumped on South Capitol street, first time in ages I'd used it, and horry clap, it was here, just before the Anacostia River, that they built the new Nat stadium.  Took these two (roll) on the fly.

Great day.

Good for you - tugs on my heart strings every time I see a Little League game in progress - have to stop and watch the little guys play an inning whenever possible.

What I appreciate is that, in general, baseball has not succumbed to the football, basketball, hockey malaise of selling the naming rights of their stadia. The Ravens play in the M&T Bank Stadium after their first naming rights owner went belly up when the .COM bubble burst. The NETs and the Devils used to play in the Continental Airlines Arena renamed from the Brendan Byrne Arena. This is really embarrassing since Brendan Byrne is still alive. Well, it was a little tacky to name the arena for him in the first place since rumor has it that he was alive when the arena was first named.

Well are catcher the "Heart " of are team got a pitcher of the girlfriend of the star of the other team. When the Star came up to bat are catcher had taped the picyure on his cup had his fly opened said "look what I got right here" Well a fight broke out when the game was over I had to pull off the road on the way home when my son told me the story I love litle league baseball
