Skinny skinny

When it begins .. "It was a well meaning ..."
You know it's about another Liberal boondoggle.

Someone just e-mailed me, questioning the validity of a comment I made. I don't have ti make stuff up.

...  It's a well-meaning piece of legislation that attempts to protect impressionable girls and women from risking their lives in pursuit of the perfect body.

But it also threatens to censor virtually every publication in an entire country.

In the ban-happy atmosphere of today's politics - a global phenomenon that attempts to cure ills at the cost of freedoms - France has jumped in to target media images of thinness.

A new bill working its way through the French government would make it illegal for anyone, including those who publish content for websites, fashion magazines and advertisements, to "promote extreme thinness."  [The skinny on France's skinny law]
