An ear full

Take Notes Tom
We want a brokered convention

The happy leprechaun sent me this link to Tom Cole's NRCC Blog, which I didn't know existed.  Just in case you were thinking the Republican Party has not a clue about what we think of McCain and his party.

Here's how Cole begins this post.  It's really all you need to read to read the tea leaves.

Families today face challenges that yesterday's laws simply don't address. We need to fix government, and one solution is to update our laws so they provide America's families with more freedom i ... blah-blah-blah.

Sample comments :

  • This is not the message I am looking to support.
  • Republicans think the way to Win is to Out "Liberal" the Liberals! McCain will be defeated ...
  • PLEASE....you are kidding??!! John McCain is the republican candidate for President. So, which LIBERAL should I vote for. Let's see ...
  • No conservative American gets up in the morning looking for a government handout. They go to work and support their families ...
  • Your message sounds like more big government. I am conservative ..
  • What ever happened to "less government and more individual responsibility", Mr. Cole?

That is an amazing thread! Now up to almost 1500 responses. I doubt though that anyone in the NRCC is reading it. Which is why everyone there is pissed.

I have been suggesting a brokered Republican convention for some time.

Relax, people. Republicans are going to give the taxpayers' money to special interests as much as any Democrat ever dreamed of doing, and will leave the borders wide open.

But they WILL save you from the horrors of The Homasekshul Agenda, and have your kids reciting state-approved prayer in schools just as soon as they possibly can. If those two things alone don't give you Hope for Change, I don't know WHAT will.

/must I?
