Talk about Man Bites Dog...
Hey Rodge, the French court agreed with the guy who wanted his marriage annulled, on account of his wife not being a virgin. I saw your post on it before, but was curious as to your actual, factual thoughts on it. Maybe I missed it, it's slipped into the shroud of the archives and is no longer on the main page.
"PARIS (AP) - The bride said she was a virgin. When her new husband discovered that was a lie, he went to court to annul the marriage—and a French judge agreed."
I understand the trouble is that it's brought on for religious reasons, that it's a problem for some. But I couldn't help but agree as well. I'm 18, but I've been fortunate enough to have known and been with the same girl for four years. I was lucky, in my incredibly selfish way, that we were together young enough, and for long enough, to where this kind of thing wasn't something I had to worry about.
But I can't imagine having met her now (as I can't imagine, she could me) one of us telling the other one thing, (and that's a big thing to not be honest about) only to find out another. I think I'd be extremely hurt to have something like that hidden from me, and while it might be...I don't know, superficial or childish, I don't know that I could deal with it.
The article said something about critics saying it's like faulting a contract after finding a flaw or defect...I don't consider not being a virgin a flaw or a defect, but I consider lying about it to be.
I don't know how this sits, if it goes along idealogical lines, or which line I, as a Conservative, should probably follow, but I have to agree with the Muslim, that finding if you believe your giving yourself to someone who's giving or given themselves to only you really important, it would be completely disheartening to find out different.
Anyway, definitely not the place to post this, but, I know you'll either post on it, or the news will pass it's prime. Wanted to see what you thought.
You don't gotta reply here, I'll see any post you make on the subject, give a chance for more people to see it, if it's individual.
Congratulations on the 4 years, Josh. Sweetie and I have been going steady for 45 years. Just got through celebrating 42 years with the marriage license.

Gotta remember this technique for the next time those "Mass Effect" assholes stage their little traffic-blocking bicycle protests.

Now that's blocking the peloton for a teammate.
AP thinks that is a real picture? Gods, they're stupid!

Well Celt, if you can show that it's fabricated, you'll blacken the eye of AP and NBC. Have at it. :)
