Education by Zinn and Jefferies, is not

Uneducated
How you can be schooled, but not educated

In the Fall of 1991 I was asked to write a review-article about Martin Bernal's Black Athena and its relation to the Afroentrist movement.  The assignment literally changed my life.  Once I began to work on the article I realized that here was a subject which needed all the attention, and more, that I could muster. Although I was completely unaware of it, there was in existence a whole literature that denied that the ancient Greeks were the inventors of democracy, philosophy, and science. There were books in circulation that claimed that Socrates and Cleopatra were of African descent, and that Greek philosophy had actually been stolen from Egypt.  Nor only were these books being read and widely distributed; some of these ideas were being taught in schools and even in universities.  I soon discovered that one of the universities where students were being taught these strange stories about Greece was my own alma mater, Wellesley College. -

Dr. Lefkowitz once recounted on the WSJ's editorial page that when she questioned Leonard Jefferies (perhaps the  foremost practitioner of this voodoo version of history) about the accuracy of what he was saying, the students in attendance booed and nearly attacked her.  Graduates of schools where these disciplines are taught may be schooled, but are they educated in any useful way?

Listening to Obama-Rama make gaffe after gaffe while reciting what he understands to be American history is a case in point.  He's the product of  Ivy League schooling, where Western Civilization is no longer taught, but the study obscure Ethiopian poets is.  Obama's Red Roots were further nurtured by the likes of William Ayers and Bernardine Dohrn, and other hard left America haters named Wright, Pfleger, and Michelle.

I once entertained the notion that Obama might be an actual Manchurian Candidate, but I'm now inclined to agree with the Occam's Razor-compatible theory advanced by Limbaugh, that he is just another Tammany Hall-like Bozo, selected by Democrats who desperately want a return to power, and see Obama as the perfect, controllable tool.  Jefferson Smith, if you will, but without the patriotism or morals.  Or education.

Tammany Hall bozos are all about getting their hands and their friends' hands into the till. Obama's much more dangerous than that. He actually believes the Marxist mumbo jumbo. LOOK OUT!

You want to see a group of Afrocentrists have a complete meltdown? Here's how you do it . . . .

Have them tell you that every facet of Greek and Roman civilization was learned, copied, and stolen from the "Great African" civilizations. Make sure they go into great detail about how European art, literature, military organizaton, democracy, and everything else all came from Africa.

"You mean everything?"

"Yes, everything."

Tell them you agree w/ them whole-heartedly and that they are entirely correct in every respect.

Then point out that 25-30% of the Greek and Roman populations were composed of slaves. Point out that the Greek and Roman economic systems were based on slavery.

Then conclude that the Greeks and Romans must have learned about slavery from following the example of the Great African civilizations.

You can then top it off by mentioning the adage of "what goes around, comes around". I've found that the casual use of the word "karma" then works well as the cherry on top of the whole thing.

Go ahead. Give it a shot. It's loads of entertainment.

Thanks for the Red Roots link, Rodger. Since suffering the chronic symptoms of hidafrummadanooz lately, I was unaware of the NP. Rush did present a clear understanding of the putrid, voodoo stew of "Change" the Dems are cooking up with their Messiah puppet. Schooled and not educated? Naw. It's called Re-Education (camps).

I was told by someone, prior to the presidential primaries, regarding Hillary or Obama, "Better the Devil you know" (Hillary). That statement was made regarding the ultra left-wing idealisms held by Barrak Obama, before most people were being made aware of who he is.
You don't need to see Commie's behind every bush, Rodger, they are (incidiously) NP. Even though my stomachs hurts now, I thank you for presenting this info to me. ugh

Chuck, a great idea, except that audience wouldn't hear you long enough to make your points.

Don't be negative, Juice. I've tried it before. It's totally unexpected. It works.

You get a lot of back-peddling and "But, but, but . . . . ."

For some reason, the women get really mad about it. They will go all Cynthia McKinney on you. Make sure you have a quick exit.

Cleopatra was a Ptolemy, a Macedonian, possibly a Macedonian Persian since Alexander encouraged his men to marry into the Persian nobility. She had no Egyptian blood but was the only Ptolemy to actually speak Egyptian.

If Alexander had not taken over Egypt, we would not have had the Rosetta Stone which opened up the glory of Egypt to our study.
