Obama (S)Care
Coming to a Hospital Near You

Mo Sup, who works in a NICU unit (Newborn ICU) was conversing with a very liberal neighbor this week.  The conversation entered dangerous grounds - health care politics - and she  was forced to listen while this chap gave her a  Cliff Claven lecture  on  how successful Canada's health care program is.

 "I have a friend in Canada who had a very serious operation, and it cost him next to nothing." 

Yes, she countered with an informed retort, which was a waste of time.  All the millions of words about the universal failure of socialized health care never came close to penetrating his socialist skull.  Never will, either, because where would he even hear them?

Maybe he should emigrate to Canada and join everyone else in line for those needing serious medical attention.

Down here in Florida, our hospitals are inundated every year with Canadians coming down for health-care and operations they can't get (or don't trust) to their system. They pay out of their own pockets in addition to the high price they pay up there.

..... don't tell me fairy-tales about "The Great White North"....

I have a suggestion that will patch up the left/right political animosity. Your neighbor with the impermeable socialist skull can have universal helth care; just like Canadians come to the US for some things, he can go to Canada to avail himself of the services there. Likewise, carbon credit (argh, gotta grit my teeth to say that) weenies can help their cause and the rest of us by taking themselves off the grid and installing a half acre of solar cells in their back yard for just $299,999.95 - don't have a half acre? - for only $150,000, put up a 50' diameter windmill on your roof to run your TV and a few lights. Forget the oven, the clothes dryer and the AC. Sell your car, ride a bike to work, and I promise I'll try not to run over you as I drive by.
In other words, Liberals, STFU, walk the walk and leave me the fuck alone.

Not noted is that it didn't start out requiring a very serious operation, in fact it no doubt became that way due to the time lag from symptom to appointlment to emergency to lucked out. Free isn't cheap if you lose.

My sister lives in Bellingham WA and she is sick an tired of all the Canadians that come across the border for doctor's exams clogging up the schedules so badly that she has a hard time getting in to see her Doctor.
