Obamaplasm

Obama Left Behind?
I've  had the History Channel's "Decoding the Past" on for the past hour, and my bell was rung.

This particular episode focuses on the anti-Christ.  Wait, don't run off yet.

Hal Lindsey's 1970 book "The Late Great Planet Earth," is credited with spawning a series of books called "Left Behind ."  The series, which had sold an astonishing 70 million copies when this program was taped (Peter Jennings narrates), juxtaposes end-time Bible scripture prophecies with current events. Like elections.

I haven't  read any of these books, but this is what got my attention.  In the past few weeks I've  had several people, mostly women, identify Obama as the anti-Christ.  At least Two of them read the Left-Behind series, and one of those voted for Bill Clinton, twice.  She is terrified by Obama.

I have no idea what the ramifications of this association with the anti-Christ will be for Obama, but it could be significant enough to blunt the efforts of Obama's cult followers, or hideous mini-Satans as we like to call them.  :)  There is a reason why Liberals hate those 34 million Evangelical Christians, after all, and what they hate has to be good for America.

Well, I had alluded to as much in my Pascal reference below. My wife and I had the same conversation after my post (she has read the entire Left Behind series) and she states that Obama is the Carpathia (sic?) / antichrist character personified. I can see it and am wont to believe it as much as I hate to acknowledge what that means for the world at large. Sadly, there are none so blind as those that will not see. I am afraid Obama could grow horns and walk through sulfurous flames and the media would swoon and his polls would go up 5%. - Vice Sgt Boone

I honestly don't believe he is, but I'm fine if proved wrong. I think he's the harbinger.

I believe the hysterical blind lemming-like following shows us how an empty suit, with nothing to say, can become 'a god'. I could never understand it before.

We're just about there, peeps.

I agree Stepps ... He does share some qualities ascribed to an anti-Christ ... mesmerizing speech, handsome, but the brilliant mind part seems to be missing. Obama is somebody's puppet.

Oh, what nonsense!
He probably won't be any worse than Mugage.

Now I am getting freaked out as I mentioned some thoughts along these lines to my wife over the weekend. Glad that I am not the only one.

There appears to be widespread thought along these lines.

Every generation has thought they were living in the end times.

I understand that's true, DoubleU, but it doesn't matter. What matters is that enough people see Obama as 666 to crush his campaign. That can ahppen ... is happening.

That may indeed be true DoubleU, but one of them will be right someday.

Nah...no end times for me. But I can offer you a view of an alternate universe that, to me, seems scarily coming about. Try reading the works of Allen Drury, starting with "Advise and Consent".

I read these books as a very young man, and they have helped coalesce my views of self-serving politicians since. The only problem is, there are so many self-serving politicians.

Oh, and so many are so dumb. I mean, post dumb. As in "dumb as a post". Not "post-dumb", which would be an interesting nomenclature. Drury. Dead. But sort of an American Nostradamus.
