Bootleg Movies

Give 'em da boot.
Remember the Seinfeld episode ("Little Kicks") where Kramer's friend Brody forces Jerry to bootleg the movie "Death Blow?"  That was the first time I was made aware that people videotaped from their theater seat, and sold the movie bootleg.  This is where a lot of them end up - Watchmovies.net..  Last night I watched just a few minutes of "Get Smart," and it was hilarious - no not the movie, the quality.  The camera was bobbing and weaving like the video pirate was simultaneously making-out with his girlfriend.  The snatch I watched of "The Incredible Hulk" was much better, but I doubt I'd ever sit through a full showing.  I love the net, this is what the wild west was like, I think.

In 1982 I was in Rota Spain. A friend who lived there (in base housing) had the 2nd Star Wars on his VCR. Long before us commoners could get it. A buddy of his let him come in after hours and tape it from the base theater screen. It was terrible.
