Road trip with a messiah

The alarm clock radio turned on this morning to Obama explaining why he canceled those visits to wounded troops in Landstuhl and Ramstein.  It might seem  inappropriately political, he said.   Sleep groggy to that point, I woke up likkety-split (even though I was still having breakfast with Joey Heatherton).  I still haven't found that sound clip, but I did find this.
When Obama found out he couldn’t use the visit as a photo op, he canceled:

Faux Nooz reported this morning that Obama said that his polls numbers may go down a bit in response to his trip. I'm betting that their polls show that.

That is correct. He was told he could visit as a standing member of Congress, but not as a political candidate; regardless photographs were verboten. He cancelled.

Translation: unless they can serve as a backdrop for my photo shoot, injured soldiers are of no use to me.
