Where does the DNC find these guys?
What Obama says is irrelevant.
What the media says Obama said, even more.
The
International drive-by media are reduced, by their quest to elect
Obama-Rama United States president, to playing games sillier than
the NorK peace negotiators in Panmunjom, who raise their table flags a
few inches in order to appear higher than the US flag across the
table. Today Der Spiegel is being quoted [Iraqi PM backs Obama troop exit plan] as saying
Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki "agrees with Obama's time
schedule," for leaving Iraq. Didn't we just go through this with
the BBC? Now it seems that Der Spiegel too changed their Maliki quote. Didn't we just go through this with blah-blah-blah ... ?
It doesn't matter. Because nobody can possibly know what Obama's plan is, not even Obama. To wit:
Here - in black and white. And this is just a partial. Look at July 3rd by itself!
“
"But the overall strategy has failed, because we have not seen any
change in behavior among Iraq's political leaders. And that is the
essence of what we should be trying to do in Iraq. That's why I'm going
to bring this war to a close. That's why we can get our combat troops
out within 16 months." (Sen. Barack Obama, CNN/Nevada Democrat Party
Democrat Presidential Candidate Debate, Las Vegas, NV, 11/15/07)
So when I am Commander-in-Chief, I will set a new goal on day one: I
will end this war. Not because politics compels it. Not because our
troops cannot bear the burden- as heavy as it is. But because it is the
right thing to do for our national security, and it will ultimately
make us safer.” March 19th, 2998 The presumptive Democratic Party U.S. presidential nominee, Barack
Obama, says he will begin ending U.S. troop involvement in the war in
Iraq on his first day in office.
Obama told reporters Thursday
that on his first day in office, he will instruct the five top U.S.
military officers, the Joint Chiefs of Staff, to end the war
"responsibly and decisively." He also said he intends to remove U.S.
troops from Iraq at a pace that will lead to a total withdrawal in 16
months. Jul 3, 2008 Sen. Barack
Obama (D-Ill.) on Thursday backed off his firm promise to withdraw
combat forces from Iraq immediately and instead said he could “refine”
his plan after his trip to Baghdad later this month.
Earlier, a top Obama adviser had said that the senator is not “wedded” to a specific timeline. Jul 3, 2008 Fargo ND.
"I've always
said that the pace of withdrawal would be dictated bythe safety and
security of our troops and the need to maintain stability. That
assessment has not changed... And when I go to Iraq and have a chance
to talk to some of the commanders on the ground, I'm sure I'll have
more information and will continue to refine my policies." (Jeff
Zeleny, "Obama: Open to 'Refine' Iraq Withdrawal Timeline," The New
York Times' "The Caucus" Blog, www.nytimes.com, 7/3/08)
