Check out Doug Ross's  transcription of the Obama-Brody interview on CBN.  If there's anybody out there who can cite one public statement Obama has made about his past that has not been proved to be a lie, or the truth of which is highly questionable, please step forward.

Buried in this NY Sun article is the fact that the Obama camp now admits that Obama was the one misspeaking with respect to his support for the Born Alive Infant Protection Act.

But when Obama held the position that the NRLC was wrong, he accused them of lying. That is a very serious charge and very embarrassing when it turns out that the one making the charge was the one holding the erroneous view.

I think a public apology is called for.

Also note that the Obama camp now points to other "flaws" in the bill. That bill was amended once to add the federal language. As committee chair, Obama could have offered further amendments to address his other concerns if he actually supported the goal of the bill.

... Indeed, Mr. Obama appeared to misstate his position in the CBN interview on Saturday when he said the federal version he supported "was not the bill that was presented at the state level."

His campaign yesterday acknowledged that he had voted against an identical bill in the state Senate, and a spokesman, Hari Sevugan, said the senator and other lawmakers had concerns that even as worded, the legislation could have undermined existing Illinois abortion law. Those concerns did not exist for the federal bill, because there is no federal abortion law.

In 2005, the campaign noted, a "Born Alive" bill passed the Illinois Legislature after another clause had been added that explicitly stated that the legislation would have no effect on existing state abortion laws...
