The Bad People, and What We Do About It
Into the future

Read Doug Ross's  Secret War With Iran post.
In August 2007, because certain intelligence agencies were not convinced of Israeli claims that President Bashar Assad was engaged in the construction of a nuclear weapons facility, Israel sent sent 12 members of the Sayeret Matkal commando unit into Syria in two helicopters to collect soil samples outside the site in question.

Needless to say, this was a highly dangerous operation. And it very nearly went wrong. The commandos were almost exposed when a Syrian patrol drove past the landing site where the helicopters were parked.

But it was well worth it. The results provided "clear-cut proof" of the nuclear project," ... A month later, Israel bombed the site, and in so doing reemphasized the Begin Doctrine - Israel's insistence that, for the sake of its own survival, it will not allow the deployment by hostile neighbors of weapons that might be used to destroy it... g

Segue to Maureen Dowd's projection  into 2012.  A knock-down fight of the century - a Thrilla from Wasilla - between Democrat presidential nominee Hillary Clinton, and GOP nominee, Vice President Sarah Palin (sorry Barry).

CLINTON: I’ve got a little news flash for you, Annie Oakley. Dinosaurs disappeared a lot longer than 4,000 years ago. I admit you’ve had a profound influence on America, and I’m not just talking about all the women wearing up-dos and rimless titanium $375 Kazuo Kawasaki designer frames. You and John are now at war with four countries — Russia, Iran, Iraq and Afghanistan, even as Osama bin Laden has opened a storefront in a strip mall in Pakistan to make TV ads.

PALIN: Those wars are tasks from God.

I'd say there's a better than even chance ..  except the players will be Iran, Russia and Pakistan, the other two having been sufficiently subdued. And if we're not at war with them, it may be worse news.

I'm not so sure we're going to war with Russia anytime soon. Pakistan, well we're already crossing their border on a regular basis hunting out the Taliban. They scream about it, but not so much as to make us stop.

Iran, however, is the largest menace in the world. Something's going to happen, and soon. If we go in, I really hope we have NATO with us, and not just in name.

One other country that has to be nervous right now is Taiwan. The US is quite busy in the mideast, and may not have the clout to tell the ChiComs to keep on their side of the strait.

Alear, and the Chicom's know it too!

Actually, that's a pretty funny editorial.

I especially liked the part about gunning wolves from the air.

Any move by the chicoms mean instant
collapse of their economy
and subsequent internal warlord struggle between People's Army factions, AKA internal nuclear war.
