Many movie houses had double features, a short or a cartoon, and did NOT run advertising.
I used the average tick price as determined by NATO (click on the $6.88).
Huh? Why is NATO tracking the cost of movie tickets? Whatever. They must be averaging in the second run theaters who still only cost a dollar. That's where I go. If it's new to me, it's new to me.

Up North in Mormon land, they have about six theaters in St. George, all built well after another. The older ones are dollar theaters. If you wait two weeks, the entrance fee to things like Batman, The Hulk, Hancock, on and on, are 1.00. On Wednesdays and Sundays, it's .50 cents.
