Chrome

Chrome
First Look

I just downloaded and installed Google's Chrome browser.  I don't know if they care whether it's a smash, or not, Google prolly just wants to force Microsoft into diverting resources playing defense.  I loaded my page, which was quick, and the result is at least as pleasing as IE, and a tad smoother than Firefox.  I'll play with it more later on, although I do fear and loathe Google.

Damn! I looked all over for it yesterday. All I found was that "cartoon" explaining it. Do look interesting....

They're just looking for more ways to track people's usage so they can make more money.

Hey Rodge, my comp is on it's last legs, how many resources does chrome suck up when it's open? I love firefox, but if I have it, and MSN open, my computer looks like 1800s photo snapshops.

I downloaded it last night also and managed to make it crash a couple of times (I had live Media Center TV running in a window so it might have been Gates skullduggery.) Nice and simple interface, and pretty fast as far as I can tell. I like the "recently added favorites feature" and thought that it was interesting that it wanted to download favorites from Firefox first but would allow you to change to IE manually.

Josh, don't open both or get a new computer.

No Google Horse shit on any of my machines (6). I hate being cookied, tracked and reported on. That is exactly what Google is doing.

Don't worry Rodger, it won't send the URL/IP of every web page you visited to Google or scan your HD and send copies of your stuff to them. Or maybe I'm just paranoid about commie sympathizers.

It gets worse.

Read the fine print, Rodge. Google now owns your post. Probably your house too, if you happened to be using Chrome inside.

Google is a communist plot to take over the world.

I use dogpile.com for my search engine.

YKW is right. Read the user license agreement you accepted when you installed the software. Google claims ownership of everything you create while using their product. Imagine if Steinway or Yamaha claimed ownership to all music written or performed on one of their pianos? Nobody would ever touch one. It should be the same with this POS.

Of course, if you were drunk when you installed the software, then you're not legally bound to the agreement, but what are the chances of that?!?
