Montana Corruption

Montana Democrat Governor Schweitzer
Claims To Have Rigged 2006 Election

Culture of Corruprtion Harry?

Montana Governor Brian Schweitzer bragged to a convention of trial lawyers to have rigged the 2006 Montana’s elections in favor of the Democrat Party.

Schweitzer, speaking at the American Association for Justice annual convention in Philadelphia on July 14, told a room full of convention-goers that he helped “turn some dials” to get fellow Democrat Jon Tester elected to the U.S. Senate.

In his speech, Schweitzer claimed he played a role in removing GOP poll watchers from Montana’s Indian reservations; that he influenced the timing of the release of election results in Butte-Silver Bow County; and that he pressured the Associated Press to call the race for Tester on Nov. 8. {Stuck on Stupid)

Tester beat Republican incumbent Conrad Burns by just 3, 128 votes in the closest Senate election of 2006 in terms of absolute vote difference.  Tester's win gave Democrats control of the Senate, and made Harry Reid Senate Majority Leader.  This race was a BIG DEAL.

It's things like that that made one American come up with this idea: Assassination Politics. Of course, he's in jail for it now for thinking such thoughts.

All those claims against Republicans following the 2000 and 2004 elections of intimidation and voter fraud? Exactly how many were proven to be true? The democrats are masters of voter fraud.

Be afraid. Very afraid. Get involved or George Soros will suceed in stealing this election.

My parent-in-law live in Helena. They say that this scumbag is the most arrogant windbag of a governor they have ever seen in their lives!

We need to bring back bounties -- dead or alive. And we need to declare open season on such cynical and arrogant traitors.

They get away with this because no one charged with enforcing the laws wants to face the chore of trying them for their manifest crimes.

Unfortunately, there are too many people in positions of power who approve of what they do.

It's an uphill battle.

Anonynous 1135: My second son is a Montana State patrolman based in Helena, and he says pretty much the same thing about Schweitzer. And as a Montanan now living in Vancouver USA, I have to say that the last really good governor Montana had was J. Hugo Aronson. He was governor for 2 terms, 1952 to 1960. And he was the only foreign-born governor before or since. He immigrated from Sweden in 1914, virtually penniless. The people of Montana would do well to put the boot to Schweitzer the next time he runs.

I'm in MT. This is how they get us painted as a purple state. It took a great deal of prevarication to smear Conrad Burns enough so Jon Tester would win. Schweitzer is busy papering MT with "Obama won't take your guns" and "I killed the REAL-ID bill singlehandedly" sheepdip in his bid for re-election. Trouble is, Dems have a real machine going here now, and the local GOP (in Western MT, anyhow) have had their hand in up to the elbow with development boondoggles. Sure wish we had our own version of Palin - a cleaned GOP house could keep us solidly out of the "swing state" category.
