A panicked cry for registered names

"Operator - get me ACORN"

Before reading any text, the headline screamed "ACORN."  And, sure enough, the mob that Obama served as consigliere is  in the vanguard.  Okay, I suspected as much after last week's FREEP (Detroit Free Press) alert, "Bad voter applications found.,"  but so did you.  Nevertheless, I find this clip especially interesting.

Michigan makes it relatively easy to register to vote, which is why state election officials said that more than 95% of the state's population 18 and older -- the 2007 census shows more than 7.6 million Michigan people in that age category -- already are registered.

By contrast, about 71% of eligible adults are registered nationwide, according to Fair Vote, a Maryland-based group that tracks voter registration.

Ninety-five percent is pretty much full employment. It's at this point that what you really want is not so much registered voters, but registered names that you can vote. That's ACORN's specialty.

All ya gotta do is sort the statewide database of absentee voters by address, and return a result when there are more than ten matches, then indict. They probably don't keep those records though.
