Soldier photos

Army releases doctored photos of dead soldiers

Staff Sgt. Darris Dawson and Sgt. Wesley R. Durbin,  died in Iraq on September 14. 
“    the Associated Press retracted two government-issued photographs last night after a photographer in Texas alerted the agency that the photos in question appeared to be doctored.”

What was doctored?  The same uniformed torso, it's claimed,  is used for both pictures (despite having differnt rank insignia and unit patches?), which were released to respective home town newspapers.   I know I should care,  but I don't. Maybe because the idea of AP concern with journalistic ethics makes me snort.  Maybe because I know this is a story driven by BDS afflicted people like ...

Since the Pentagon is into photo doctoring, that gives me hope John McCain and Sarah Palin will like these photos:


As an aside - the two were evidently killed by an unhinged fellow soldier, which does not diminish their sacrifice one iota.

They are doctored, and badly.

The head of the guy on the left is lit very differently than the rest of the shot. It looks like a straight-on flash from a hand=held camera rather than the even fill of a studio shot.

But the clincher:look at the cammo pattern that should be random. It's identical in both photos.
