The key difference between Lenin's Communist socialism, and
Hitler's Fascist model lies in the means of production -- public "ownership" or "control," respectively. Both socialist, both bad, both antithetical to American democracy, but the commie version, seizing ownership, is worse because
it puts government bureaucrats in charge of the entire process,
guaranteeing shoddy produce, and failure.
In recent years the threat seemed to come from the fascists, with people like Al Gore trying to wrest design and production control of,
first the automobile industry, and then everything, under the
"save the environment" rubric. Or the Clinton's (ultimately largely successful) attempt to control our health industry. But voila! In a flash
the Marxists win.
