I won't lie and say it didn't hurt. (I think I saw a tear in Michael's eye.) But, we are proud of Saban and the boys. Taking us to 12-1 was more than expected.
**Could be wrong but I don't think Utah has our number.
Hey, I'm a Duke grad and I can not STAND Vitale. I will not watch a Duke game he broadcasts.
And for Duke to be moved up in polls after the loss is beyond stupid. My only guess is that people had votes sent in before the game was played.
Duke's good this year but had a bad game. Ya have a bad game, ya get knocked down. That's the way it is. Dammit.
Go Boise State, we rock and any team in the ACC whould take a beat down from the Broncos in football. When it comes to basketball we would be toast.
Just seconding Anonymous' comment.
As a Boise retread who just moved here from Terp central all I can say is that the Broncos would eat the lunch of any ACC team with the balls to accept an invite. The blue field may be odd but then, so is the BCS. Or, to steal a phrase, the "MFCS BCS".
Oh! And screw Ohio State!
Heh heh, "Screw Ohio State!" C'mon Scott, we did the country a favor this year by not going to the BCS title game. Plus, we're going to have our lunch eaten by Texas. That's gotta be fun for everyone not in Columbus.
And as far as Boise goes, it just sounds too French to ever be treated seriously.
"And as far as Boise goes, it just sounds too French to ever be treated seriously."
That was the very first objection I raised when my wife suggested the move. But then I realized that even a French-sounding town in the mountains beat a cesspool of a city in a swamp.
Although I do feel bad for having left folks like Rodge to fight the good fight. Not bad enough to move back... but still.
Hey Roger, I'm a long time reader and huge Nevada Wolf Pack fan. I figured to find something about the upcoming bowl game. It should be fun to watch. The Terps best not take the game too lightly.
Rodger you really ought to become a JMU fan - one game away from our second National Championship game in 4 years! Go DUKES ( not duke university)
TFV
I din't attend JMU though. Plus, Virginia voted for Obama. Oh. Right.
Pat H - I make Nevada a 14 point favorite.
Plus, Virginia voted for Obama.
The voters from Fairfax, Arlington and Charlottesville are not Virginians. They are carpetbaggers and illegal aliens spilling out of DC and Maryland.
To hell with the Mexican border, I want a fence along the Potomac.
Lt. Col. Gen. Tailgunner dick
Thanks Lt. Col. Gen! You splained it better than I coulda.
Ok Rodge we can make you an honorary Duke dog - after all Charlottesville is bluer than Harrisonburg.

Lt. Col. Gen.
Not all of those of us left as stay-behind resistance here in Fairfax have surrendered. However, we are badly out-numbered and so must continue the fight covertly. Anytime you and Rodge can air-drop some more ammo, we'll be standin'-by. Now if we can just get rid of that MFCS Al Groh, the Cavs might have a shot at a decent season.
Shit Alear, I never thought you'd drink the Big 12 koolaid. I recall the Buckeyes stomping the shit out of Colt McCoy when he took his first collegiate snap. We'll either bookend his college years, or allow him his revenge. I like the former scenario. Since Mack Brown is a dolt, it is entirely possible. Hell if that drooling moron Mike Leach can beat them, we can too.

Bumper sticker I once saw in Durham, NC (Duke home base)
G"o to Hell, UNC.
Take Duke with you"
My GT Yellow Jackets (managing to escape the blue "tidy bowl" field out west) suffered through yet another season of being under rated in the polls, ended up missing the ACC chanpionship game by 10 points in spite of being ranked above VT and BC, beat the crap out of Georgia in the second half of the state rivalry, only to see the blankin' Georgia Dogs go to Orlando for a million dollar bigger payoff.
Hopefully staying home in Atlanta for the Peach Bowl will cost seven figures less than staying home in Georgia to play in the Peach Bowl.
that last sentence should end in the words "going to Florida around New Years."
