From Within

Today's Throwaway Thought

I watched a Hitler Channel piece on the SS recently, and a narrative about Ernst Röhm, leader of Hitler's brown shirt thugs, still resonates.   After his failed beer hall putsch, where several of his followers were gunned down, Hitler came to a parting of the way with Röhm, who was all about thuggery.
"Hitler realized that street violence was not going to work, and decided that the best way to achieve his goals was through  political success, where he could tear the system down from within."  [memory quote]
I know many of you have heard this before, and the tactic was openly advocated by the 60's radicals, like Mark Rudd, Bill Ayers, etc., but it has some additional poignancy for me now.

Ernst Röhm was also a friggin' pervert. On Mark Rudd, Bill Ayers, etc., I have no idea but it wouldn't surprise me in the least.
