Is this the header you see?

Kind of. No fancy font though.

Recently it has been a plain black band, and I assumed you were in mourning about the recent unpleasantness on 11/4. Now it is as the previous commenter said.

This is in Firefox.

PS: the verification word is "retch."

Are you asking what font I see in the masthead? If so, it is not the same. MS Word identifies the font as "BernhardFashion BT".

nope: only like in this pic (Times New Roman?)

Using Firefox 3 I see the same as OldJacques picture - good thinking OldJacques!

FnF! ... after doing this for seven years, I'm just now aware that all the fonts I've used, tailored to content, have been for naught. JFC.

Rodger - I'm using IE7,
I see on your masthead, black background, white Times New Roman font "Curmudgeonly & Skeptical"

I see same in your question, but with an Art-Deco looking font.

I see what the others see-- Arial Bold on a big black background.

Exactly like OldJacques picture in both Firefox 3.0.4 and IE 6.0.29 SP2

I guess if you don't have the font installed on your computer, you can't see it. Would that be correct wise men (and women)?

B....... said...

Yes, if a particular font is not installed, windows will default to the closest match that is installed.

What you could do is make an image file of your blog name. (scaled to fit in your header) Insert that in the coding of your blog under the "Header". (Something like this: [p align="center"][img width="660" height="175" border="0" align="middle" alt="home is Sailor ... home from sea" src="/blog_images/DarkHarbor660.jpg"][/p] )

Substitute your image file name, location, and parameters for your own. This will allow every one to see what you have and not require anyone to have to download your fonts. At some future date should you want to change it make a new image file and swap it out with the old one (just change the file name in your code). Also change all the [ and ] in the code above to < and > respectively. as comments dont like code.

Hope that helps...anyone else feel free to correct me if I am in error.

ha-I didn't notice that Rog. She does have a resemblance to me. But, no, not me! My parents didn't raise me in a barn. I shut the doors behind me and I don't leave toys out on the kitchen counters.

I see a fancy font on IE 6.0

Just as a follow-up, I wanted to let you know that whatever it was you did your page loads almost instantaneously now. And adding the jpg instead of text works fine. I see it now.
