The Execution of Bill and Hillary

Today's WTF

My kids are movie aficionados, and all of then gave Benjamin Buttons a throw-up.  Two, Greep and Joe,walked out of it.  That's quite a gulf between this Oscar hype, so what's up?  Is Benjamin Buttons a metaphor for Barack Osama?  WTF?

And while I'm at it ...

I'm bombarded with hype for yet another Nixon hate move, Frost/Nixon,.  Whose idea was it to make this film?  I mean, there are already more than 40  in the can, so how is it that Hollywood dickwad Ron Howard thought, "What the world wants is another one?" Meanwhile, how many Clinton movies have been made?  Exactly none.  Primary Colors only alluded, and The Path to 9/11, although documenting the Clinton Administration's criminal ineptness, focused on the broader topic.  Films about individual Clinton scandals would exceed 40 by themselves, and be ever more entertaining.  Plus, the bulk of today's movie goers actually remember them.  Box office for the fantasy film, "The Execution of Bill and Hillary, would blow the Bush Assassination Film off the charts.

My wife wanted to see that. I opted for Slumdog Millionaire instead. Glad I did... Slumdog was a very good movie.

BTW.. what caused the walk-out? Boredom?

Clinton metaphor?...Don't forget "Wag the Dog"... but I think the parallels were more of a mistake than anything.

Son #1 and Jen walked out on it the day it came out...at the 2.5 hour mark. Couldn't take it anymore.

darn, I like Cate B. a real chameleon.

Gran Torino, I was disappointed, Eastwood has become a caricature of himself.

This is what makes the world go 'round. I loved, absolutely loved, Benjamin Button. On my Top 10 list now. The whole concept of mortality, etc. is intellectually intriguing. Obviously doesn't do much for the "car chase and crash" crowd. Also saw Slumdog. Saves me a trip to India. C+ for me.

I just watched Spinal Tap again. Even with Rob Reiner's involvement, it's maybe the best parody of all time.

When I was a young boy I began to pay attention to the Oscars. It only took me a few years to decide to stop paying attention to them.
This humorously explains why.

I agree with you Rodge. Spinal Tap still makes me laugh. But Rob Reiner isn't the only weinie involved with that film. As much as I used to like Christopher Guest and Harry Shearer and pukin' lefties too....

" car chase and crash crowd" good one bill. I don't go to a clint eastwood movie for intellectual stimulation. and if you name your movie after a muscle car, maybe you could open the hood, lay some rubber, rev the engine or at least start and drive the fucking thing.
I also don't go for the lefty love thy neighbor messages. hell buddy, break something and shoot somebody. of course thats just me, doin' my part to keep 'er spinnin'.
