I remember seeing this interview. Friedman was in the midst of his book tour for "Free to Choose". It was one of the best Phil Donahue shows I ever watched. Lots of the Chicago housewives in the audience asked Dr. Friedman, "Why don't you run for President?
I love that clip. Even though I've seen it many times, I'm compelled to watch until the end for the closing line "I don't even trust you . . ."
It's too late for throwing them down a sinkhole. The damage is done. The dewberries in the media and the public school system have won over the hearts and minds of American youth, and American youth are now intellectually and emotionally wedded to Socialism.
Conservatives really are as useless as tits on a bull when it comes to mounting a moral defense of capitalism, but being mired in ancient religious crap, you're not really inclined towards pushing, self-interest, making money, accumulating material wealth, basking in the same, and pursuing one's own happiness as moral acts one should endeavor to undertake. Ask yourself the question? "Do my ethics which I have thoroughly checked to be in accord with Biblical teachings lean more towards Capitalism or Socialism?"
