It's been pretty obvious from current events that all of the Uhbama administration failed math. This proves it. A Zero indeed.

Ok, that bothers me. It cannot be, yet I can't find the error in the algebra.
Where is it? - 3/24/09, 12:54 PM

(a+b)=b.....a+b=b.....a=b-b....a=0.........No?

Substitute the numeral 1 for each "a" and "b", and write the lines out one at a time.
It then gets obvious. - 3/24/09, 1:07 PM

(a + b) over (a-b).

Good job, Rodger. I believe Zeno's paradox could also be applied equally aptly here. All things eventually break down - but Obama and his henchmen have definitely played with the logic.

I guess that if you're solving for 'a' then you can't substitute til you HAVE that solution..........Course, there's NO substitution for actual Presidential ability.

Took me a while to figure out what you did that wasn't valid. Hint: can't divide both sides by zero.

a-b=0
In the middle step, you divide both sides of the equation by the term (a-b).
You can't divide by zero.
Not even Obama can.

Thanks.

Actually, the line (a+b)(a-b)=b(a-b) indicates multiplying both sides by zero, which leaves us with (a+b)*0=b*0 => 0=0. The last 4 lines serve only to make the funny.
