Cally Quiz

Do you know what happened this week
back in 1850, 158 years ago?

  • California became a state.
  • The State had no electricity.
  • The State had no money.
  • Almost everyone spoke Spanish.
  • There were gunfights in the streets.
So basically, it was just like  California today; except the
women had real breasts and the men didn't hold hands.

And coastal front property was still available and affordable.

And Southern CA was still a desert with no aqueduct and not stealing water from the N.State and farmers who produce food for world wide distribution.

Can't remember where I read this but ...when California added water to the Southern desert, they were able to grow vast crops but over a long period of time salt has built up which if it hasn't already completely ruined the area for agriculture, it will eventually.Irrigation without enough natural rainfall will make the land completely sterile.....I think this is what happened to the territory of the Anasazi.

Isn't that when Nancy Pelosi had her first face lift?

...and CA was full of gold-diggers from the East.
...and San Francisco was filled with homeless bums.
...and it took two hours to commute ten miles around LA.
...and a bunch of States were thinking of seceding.
...and you could see Russia from Anchorage.
