Personally, I'd like to see Romney, mormon or not. He's got great knowledge of the economy, could point out the flaws and pick apart Obamas plans in detail that no other politician could.
I think we're a long ways off, and I hate to say it, I think when it rolls around, Sarah wont be a major contender. - 3/29/09, 4:20 PM

Aha! I knew this sounded familiar.

I can't beat him up for that. If she runs and it's her and say satan incarnate, then yeah, he better support her, but if Romney or the SC governor runs, they would be just as good to support. Plus if he pledges now and Sarah comes out sometime and self destructs, then he looks bad yet again.

That's kind of how I'm thinking. I was kind of wishing for Romney early November. :-S

Romney is establishment GOP and not acceptable to the Real King of Fwance. If not Sarah, then Jindal, or someone else who's proved they have stones, and preferably is hated by the GOP muck-a-mucks, current crop included. Except for Alear.

Rodge when the search for the VP started off, me and someone from work were sitting in Garden Center, and instead of working, were looking at these people and their pros and cons. Palin and Jindal came up as new faces, of course. But Jindal was awful at giving the GOP response a few weeks ago, and Sarah, well, you know. In four years, nobody can say Obama is a political lightweight anymore (even if he is, it'll get laughed out) and Sarah will be the only one on a ticket.
I think Jindal and Sarah would get beat in the high single digits like McCain did. We need someone who can articulately express to the masses exactly what Obama is doing to devestate our country's wealth, and how it's being passed on to us, our children and our childrens children. To articulate it not because some clever aid put it on paper and said 'sell this' but because they understand it.
Jindals big point was he was young and a minority. An Indian isn't going to sell like a black, sorry to put it bluntly. And Sarah, she riled up the base, but she didn't win much more than that, so far as I can see. - 3/29/09, 5:09 PM

Well I've been noticing how they STILL attack Sarah at every opportunity. There's an awful lot of fear showing on their side even yet of her. She's a damn strong contender yet. I voted for Palin, not McCain. Palin/Jindal '12? HELL YEAH!

Romney = Bush (Either one) + Mormon+ equals not a contender and IF he were to win we'd still have a Moderate Republican THAT does not bode well for the long term. I think Dem. Zell Miller is closer to a Conservative Republican than Mit.
We need a True conservative, Sarah is headed in that direction (She's got a little way to go.) - 3/29/09, 7:26 PM

Maybe Johnny Mac knows that his endorsement of her would be the kiss of death for some people. Maybe he really does think highly of her - after all he has to know she brought in the majority of his votes.

I dunno. The thought of giving it to Obamessiah for being so damn inexperience scared the hell out of me. It would have an inexperienced Conservative, too.

For the record, I still say Mitt's the best we got. I can be persuaded otherwise, and it's a while before it'll matter.
