DO NOT CROSS THIS LINE

Something you don't see everyday
This small act, Chrissie, just gave me a much needed boost in my sense well being.

That Soldier just earned himself a promotion,At the very least a letter of commendation!
There are places in this world that you simply do NOT cross the line no matter what you dropped!

That reminds me.

In July 1991 I was in DC as an Aussie tourist (first trip to the USA). I was in the park across the road from the Whitehouse when the cops starting setting up a rope boundary to keep tourists back (the President's helicopter was on its way). While we were all waiting, behind the rope, a German tourist (heard him speak) decided that he'd get a better video shot if he got in front of the rope. The cops were busy talking to themselves and NOT watching the crowd so the guy stood there for a while filming. Then a cop turned around, saw the guy, and rushed over yelling. For whatever reason (lack of English, fright) the tourist didn't move so the cop started smacking him about the head (not hard) until he decided to duck'n'run.

Late 60's or early 70's, I was on a junior high school trip to DC, and several of the girls were chattering like magpies in the front row of spectators. Boy, the ceremony stopped while the Marine in charge gave them quite a reprimand. He went on for what seemed like a couple minutes, but was probably less than that.

That plaza must have been expanded since then. Used to be smaller and more intimate, you could practically reach out and touch them back then. That made the girls' chatter quite intrusive. I'll tell ya, some pie-holes got shut that morning!

Once again, a reminder not to piss with a man with a rifle with a bayonet on the end of it. Cause they are not afraid to use it.

And one of the few times I will refer to a citizen as a stupid civilian, because if you acted like you, then you must be one.
