Limbo v Sotomayor

Flashback: Rush Limbaugh
Opposed Sotomayor ... in 1997!
No wonder they call him the leader of the GOP. He saw her Supreme Court nomination coming 12 years ago.

Sotomayor was nominated on November 27, 1991, by President George H. W. Bush to a seat on the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York (source wiki)

I bet George Sr. is none to happy with his selection these days.

As for Rush's claim... 12 years isn't much of a Rocket Ship ride IMHO

That was a second-tier nomination, and was recommended by Moynihan, who was not someone to mess with on such a matter. I'm giving GWHB a pass on this one.

I just read that she was nominated for appointment by D.P Moynihan, having a tit-for-tat agreement with the other NY Senator at the time to alternate choices... FWIW. GHWB just accepted the get-along, as it was honorable back then, and men kept their word. Sad to say, now...
