Nurses and you

Ecce, Liberali!
Without debate healthcare

From my frame of reference nurses, and that portion of the voting population not aligned with the CPUSA, who gave us this current government are analogous entities. Nurse are nothing if not compassionate, caring, and well meaning people.  And when it comes to political reality, are criminally and willfully ignorant.   Ecce, Liberali!

"Oh Joy. They're gonna start here" nails the new, about to be imposed-by-decree American health care by these new masters  There has been no debate, just  conditioning in the form of false premises, half truths, and factually baseless rhetoric.  Liberals have delivered us into a third world economy, and now European healthcare.  What next, compulsory fußball? Goose stepping?
When they talk about those "45 million uninsureds," what those "Leaders in Washington" don't bother to tell you is that the number of uninsureds includes 10 to 15 million criminal immigrants who have snuck into this country in violation of our laws and those "Leaders in Washington" should be more concerned with kicking them the hell out instead of providing them with free healthcare at the taxpayers' expense.

And... that number includes 10 million uninsureds who live in households earning considerably more than $50,000 per year, all of whom have access to healthcare, who could afford healthcare, but who have chosen to opt out of their spouses medical plans because they choose to spend the money on something else. Seeing how they are uninsured through their own choice, those "Leaders in Washington" should allow them to live with that choice.

Finally, a good many of the rest that number of uninsured already qualify for existing government programs but are too lazy to apply for themselves or their children. Let them get off their asses and do something for themselves for a change.

It appears that according to the European healthcare model, the level of better and cheaper is also gauged by the level of personal satisfaction with one's personal medical healthcare. Most Americans are in fact satisfied with their personal medical coverage. Most Europeans are not. Therefore, it stands to reason that, if you're basically satisfied with your healthcare, then the government has to step in and fix it enough until you're unsatisfied with it. Then, and only then, will it be better.

You're harshing my mellow, man!

My wife, is 18 days from graduating from medical school. (midlife career change from power systems engineer) anyway, she contends than even the uninsured get care. If you can drag your sorry carcass to an ER they *will* give you care at no cost to you. She says that a lot of people (with money for 4 packs a day) show up in the ER for non emergency care and get it for free. (free to them anyway)

They are not even allowed to ask if they are citizens.

I'm calling for an airstrike.

18Echo: This should not be news to you. The illegals in California use the ER as their walk-in 24 hour clinic (Doc in a Box). Because, by law, the hospital has to serve them, it makes the ER a money-losing proposition... last I heard, and this was about a year ago, hospitals had shut down 26 ERs here in California.

Have heard similar stories out of Illinois (University of Chicago) and elsewhere. One Honduran (I think) entered the U of C through the ER with a brain injury. And he's been there more than a year. The Hospital offered to send him home to Honduras on air-ambulance, at their expense, just to get him out of the hospital, and of course "Rights for Minorities" bunch stepped in, at further cost to the Hospital in the form of Legal expenses.
