Daydreaming here Boss

bin Laden's missed opportunity

Don't get me wrong.  We still would have gone after bin-Laden, al-Qaeda, and ilk, because Bush recognized the threat militant Islam presents to us, and the world.  They must be killed to a man.  But, I think bin-Laden missed an opportunity to temper the hatred we have for him today by instead slamming his hijacked jets into the New York Times building.  The innocent passengers still die, yes, but no innocents in the building, like died in the Trade Center.  Think the Japanese bombing not Pearl Harbor, but the American Bund headquarters on December 7th. An attack on our homeland yes, but ... you know.

I so know what you're thinking right now.

"One plane for the NYT, the second one for Rockefeller Center ooh-rah!"

I see where you're coming from, but nuh-uh.  While the New York Times is deeply despised by 97% of Americans, they associate Rockefeller Center with skating and the Rockettes, and not CBS.  Besides, CBS can be wiped out with a timely hit on Howard Dean's next garden party.

This Times story about how "our national obsession with bargains has lowered our standard of living and hurt the environment," and the slutty ex-cokehead Maureen Dowd trashing Palin may have triggered me here, but I do have the security of our nation at heart.  I mean, the NYT is a major reason Keith Olbermann had to be hanged

When I declare war, I declare war. Does that answer your question?

I make a point to read the New York Times on a daily basis. What did Sun Tzu say? "If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles."

Osama attacking the NYT would be like Tojo bombing Berlin. Simply put, you don't attack your friends. Sure hitler went into Russia, but even though they were ideologically alike, they were still bitter enemies.
