Sarah Sovereignty

Seven states are just shy four of eleven.
Just weeks before she plans to step down from her position as Alaska governor, Palin signed House Joint Resolution 27, sponsored by state Rep. Mike Kelly on July 10, according to a Tenth Amendment Center report. The resolution "claims sovereignty for the state under the Tenth Amendment to the Constitution of the United States over all powers not otherwise enumerated and granted to the federal government by the Constitution of the United States."

While seven states – Tennessee, Idaho, North Dakota, South Dakota, Oklahoma, Alaska and Louisiana – have had both houses of their legislatures pass similar decrees, Alaska Gov. Palin and Tennessee Gov. Phil Bredesen are currently the only governors to have signed their states' sovereignty resolutions. [Full]
According to the report, the joint resolution does not carry with it the force of law, but supporters say it is a significant move toward getting their message out to other lawmakers, the media and grassroots movements.

Great news of course, but are these governors showboating, or governing?  The unanimous vote by both AK houses, when we know it's inhabited by ratbastards, indicates showboating. And, clearly, the five governors who have yet to sign their state's  sovereignty resolutions are suspect.  What I suggest is this.

In solidarity with her replacement, Sarah announce tomorrow that bidding on ANWAR drilling will begin next month.  And any other damned place where there's oil to be had.  For starters.  Someone has to stand up where it counts, and she has the popularity and support of enough people to make the Obamanites tread very carefully.  So, smash the mofos, and have songs writ and statues built in your honor Sarry.

Melissa Clouthier has some interesting points on what (how) the Republican leadership needs to change to make things like this happen.......

Governor Phil Bredesen (D. - Tn) was just showboating.

He was considered for HHS Secretary, but scuttled when Obama found out he actually cut Medicaid (i.e. TennCare) patient rolls in Tn.

He vetoed the recent legislation which lets people like myself carry a handgun (with a permit) in restaurants which sell alcohol.

You cannot drink and carry, but you can carry if you don't drink and the restaurant doesn't post a sign prohibiting you from carrying in it (as each restaurant has the prerogative to do).

The legislature overrode his veto.

Once again your outlook and post are precisely what we ask ourselves on every [rare] occasion a R or D suggests anything contrary to teh one. Mostly, we assume showboating or future run for whatever. Why? Recent history *is* the proof in the pudding.

Today's attack on Sarah Palin is the lowest of low blows so far: Yes the law suits are frivolous, but NO you can't defend your self from them.
IF SHE CAN"T USE AN ATTORNEY, CAN SHE GO KICK the shit out of the 2-3 assholes that have filed these 18 bogus suits????

I won't even go into the part about the Confidentianal MEMO being leaked and the heads that should but probably won't roll for that crime.

I wonder if Wyoming, Utah, Idaho and a small handful of other states were to literally declare themselves sovereign. Tell the feds to piss up a rope and start drilling (yeah, I know it doesn't happen that fast. What would the feds do? If the legislative blitz kreig approach works for Zero et al then the several states should tie the feds in knots. Sagebrush/tundra revolution II. Just thot. Back to looking for that dog.
