Here's the conundrum, as I see it.
Liberals cite opposition to capital punishment with "better that ten guilty persons escape than that one innocent suffer." The corollary in this instance (abortion is another)-you would think- is "Better that ten use guns to ill purpose, than one ounce of freedom is spent to stop them."
That it's not ought manifestly demonstrate the unscrupulous character of this enemy within. A certain physicality is in order ... at some point.

So, Kalifornia, how's that war on drugs going out there?
What? Legalize pot and tax the heck out of it? Oh that'll work...
How about that war on crime?
What? Permits to buy ammo, and thumbprints of all buyers? Oh, yeah, that's a good idea too...
I say we just make a border fence all the way around the state. That way, they can search every car for ammo going in, and we can check each car for idiots going out.
That works for me. Really.
I'm opening gun stores in Yuma, and at the first exit on I-15 headed toward Vegas.

Criminals have/need only one box of ammo.
They don't practice.

This is simple intimidation of lawful citizens. There is still no way for anybody could tell if the ammo was bought or ended up in the hands of a criminal. Its just that lawful citizens are not used to being finger-printed and has a stigma attached to it for the uninitiated. After all, "only criminals are finger-printed -- right? Wonder why he didn't throw in taking mug shots of the buyers as well? Why not semen samples and vaginal smears too while you're at it. Let's really intimidate the folks stupid enough to want to protect themselves.
Does the law prohibit importing ammo bought in a neighboring city? What is to prevent a lawful owner of a lawful firearm from going to the next town and buying ammunition?
Lets finger print women before an abortion. Just to check the age. And require a 3 day 'cooling off' period.

I thought Big 5 stopped that after the Mendez Brothers gave them a bad name. Look, nothing human lives in Carson. This may be a good thing. Like banning sales in Compton.
