We used to live in Palisades, Washington. They'd fly these cargo planes (I can't help but think they were C-17's) right over our house, with Fighter Jet escorts. I'm not exaggerating when I say, when I was standing on the road, I could throw a rock and hit the bottom of one (not that I'd dare try). They flew low. Why they did it, I'm not sure, given the Jets, I figured training exercise. Their wings were literally lower than the cliff walls of the valley.

They travelled in threes and fours, with two Jets flying lead, and it was by far the coolest thing I've ever seen. Made my ears ring for about a day, but it was amazing to see. While they weren't sideways but for a few seconds when they first entered the valley, the picture was about how close I was to them.

Spooky. Awesome.

They still do Josh, that and some low level fast movers flying up the Cowlitz and over Riffe Lake towards Morton, may be the same squadron, just below the sound barrier. It do rattle the sides of the TV tray and scares the Dawg when you're drifting along half asleep.

Does the airdale fly by his apartment so close to check up on his wife? He just has to look up at the right time. But, I think she'd catch on after the first time...
