Back in Preston's day, a #10 size can of whup-azz would have been opened right then and there followed up with pistols at dawn.

I hate to differ, but I was there and that was not exactly what happened. Moran was picking (questions he liked) from a box that people had written them on. Each card had a name and a question. Just before this happened, and lady came up and said that it was her name, then proceded to start to tear into Moran. He shouted her down and gave the mic to another lady who was actually the one he called on.
Moran knew what the question for this guy was by reading the card, and asked the guy what his question was to verify that it was that guy's card. I am guessing the guy was flustered & couldn't remember the exact question, so he showed him his ID.

That's not saying Moran was not an ass and only picked the questions he wanted to answer...
Three things stood out for me at that meeting:
1) Moran Moran made the point that there was "nothing in the bill mandating abortion". Nice to know that the "health reform" will not force abortions. On the other hand, he did not say it was excluded.
2) Dean said that they didn't consider tort reform because "politics precluded them from considering it
2) Dean said that the free market couldn't fix the problem. A statement only a communist could make... - 8/27/09, 5:16 PM

For the life of me I don't see how the MFCS Moran gets elected all the time. Oh, yeah. Northern Virginia.....

Our problem in NoVA can be defined in one word: Maryland. No surprise, really, as a recent survey reported on FBN showed VA as the #5 state in terms of business friendliness while MD ranked #42. Thus, we get lots of folks from the Far Side (of the Potomac). No problem, except that they apparently have a great nostalgia for the Old Country and bring their political tendencies with them, apparently forgetting why they left the Far Side in the first place. Same thing's happened in New Hampshire, being next door to Taxachusetts. The answer's simple: Blow the Potomac River bridges, then use the VA National Guard to retake NoVA. (Okay, Arlington and Alexandria may be beyond hope.) Worth a try, though, I mean hypothetically and all.

Yeah - I was amazed by how many sheep were at that meeting. On the other hand, there were a lot of non-sheep there also. Like the little old lady and her husband that were sitting next to me. When the obamabot came by passing out "thank you" signs to hold up, they took them, then promptly ripped them up while the obamabot looked on in horror...
