Dear Mr. President and Ms. Douglass:
Today I saw a news
report where the White House was requesting that Americans that have
knowledge of misinformation on National Health Care notify the White
House immediately so they could take the appropriate action. I am
writing to inform of some misinformation I have received via email and
other places on the web regarding the National Health Care reform.
I
am the father of 2 beautiful children, both that were born premature
and required excellent health care The health care they received from
Stony Brook Hospital in NY and Martin Memorial Hospital in Florida was
execellent. I tell you this in an effort to let you know that I
understand how important it is to have quality health care. Both my
children are thriving and one would never know they were born 7-8 weeks
early and required neonatal intensive care in order to ensure their
survival. Listening and watching the health care debate unfold over the
last few months, I am amazed by the lack of understanding that most
people have about the issue. That is why I feel it is my civic duty as
a patriotic American to answer your request for information on any
misinforamtion on Health Care reform. I provide you this information
with a heavy heart. It is not my normal M.O. to "tattle" but in this
case I feel it is absolutely necessary. Please tread lighty with this
information and I hope you will use this information wisely.
Recently,
I received misinformation from a prominant Government official to the
American people in an effort to trick them. The disheartening part of
receiving this information is that it actually came from prominent
Government Officials. Here is what one website claimed:
"The
President has vowed that the health reform process will be different in
his Administration – an open, inclusive, and transparent process where
all ideas are encouraged and all parties work together to find a
solution to the health care crisis. Working together with members of
Congress, doctors and hospitals, businesses and unions, and other key
health care stakeholders, the President is committed to making sure we
finally enact comprehensive health care reform."
This site
continues to claim that a prominent Government Official has been
"talking to the American people alot about Health Insurance Reform and
what is at stake for them" and that he has been upfront and honest
about what his vision for National Health Care. The information on this
site is misleading and in some cases out and out lies. The people
responsible for putting this information out there need to be
sanctioned at minimum and their websites shut down immediately. Health
Care Reform is too important an issue to allow such deceit to make its
way it the homes of the American people. Please use the power of your
Office to put a stop to this misinformation.
