At the store where I work (in the dairy department, from time to time, no less) rest assured, I will NOT be pushing/promoting the Sargento products.

Even though I was not a great fan of Beck (he strikes me as being more than a little "flaky"), I feel his heart is in the right place.

And agree or disagree with what he says, but to use the "hate card" with such mad abandon, is not only stupid, it helps to devalue the word "hate"... but than again, isn't this something the progressives and PC crowd have been doing to the language for years now?

Way back about 1990, I applied and was interviewed for the CFO position for Sargento in Plymouth, WI. My contact was with CEO Lou Gentine, whose family owns and runs this business.

I can tell you that I was most impressed with Mr. Gentine and the Sargento management team. In my opinion, this organization is not favoring either libs or cons. I would think that they do not want to be caught in the middle of the political struggle.

Here is an article that pretty much describes the Sargento that I experienced those many years ago.

Sorry, if they didn't want to be caught in the middle of this food fight, they should have stayed out of it. Their choice, their consequences.

First comment at the News Busters site has the link to Sargento's contact page. I left them a note detailing my intentions to boycott them back. My new slogan: "Sargento's smells like grandpa's feet".
