Dr

DeLay
 Still a Good Guy

Newsweek (via Hot Air)
Tom DeLay, Birther?

Newsweek: You got into some trouble for saying on TV that you weren’t sure President Obama was born in the United States.

Delay: What I said was, to answer a question from Chris Matthews, I said: “Why wouldn’t the president of the United States show the American people his birth certificate?” You have to show a birth certificate to play Little League baseball. It’s a question that should be answered. It’s in the Constitution that you have to be a natural-born citizen of the United States to be president.

Newsweek:  Do you think he isn’t a citizen?

Delay: I have no idea.

Good for Tom.  Anybody who doesn't question Obama's refusal to show his birth certificate is an ignorant dickweed,  and now yelling at me "He DID show it."  Or, an ignorant dickweed now thinking, "what's all this about?" A pox too on Ann Coulter, and others who,  in a cynical act of political expediency,  dismissed it as without merit.  Obama is hiding something; something he feels could have derailed his political career.  So what is it?

While I'm on the subject, I'm very disappointed in World Net Daily, which has almost singlehandedly kept the issue alive.  Joe Farah made a full length documentary that covers every aspect of the case, but instead of posting it, he's selling it.  And just who in hell is going to buy it?  People who already know what's in it, which does not a thing to change minds and advance the issue. The same fate befell The Clinton Chronicles, which in hindsight was spot-on about the Clintons, but kept out of the public domain when  it might have done some good. Of course, there was no You Tube then either.

Delay is a contemptable RINO.

He, more than anyone, personifies why the free-spending Republicans lost Congress.

Even a blind hog finds an acorn from time to time, and he got this right.

Tom DeLay, a RINO? Horry Clap, there's yet another alternative universe I wasn't aware of.

Mike Savage made an interesting comment a few weeks ago. He said that teh govmint can produce anything that it wants. If they wanted to they could "fabricate" a COLB and wave it around any way that they wanted. THen after this thing gains steam pull it out of their a$$ and diffuse the whole situation making Birfers look like Maroons(a la bugs bunny)

He was on one of his depressive sides. The man is a genius and I believe him to be a birfer like most of us in teh barn army.

Say what you will about Tom DeLay, he has paid a heavy, heavy price for being part of the 1994 revolution in the House of Representatives. He is being hounded by a squirtbomb of a prosecutor who has no evidence but a strong "belief" that DeLay has done something hinky. Hell's bells, we cannot prosecute that p.o.s. Al Sharpton, even when we HAVE evidence. And besides which, DeLay showed true courage when he insisted on dancing with his injured feet. Have any of you ever HAD stress fractures in both feet. I had one in one foot and I was hoping for a swift and merciful demise.

Thanks Gayle Miller.
Tom Delay was also a part of several Republicans who went to Bush 41 to strongly advise against tax increases. The very same tax increase that put those faces of disbelief upon G.H.W's and Barbara's faces the morning after Election '92.
"Kill your opponents." It's the Liberal way, and why DeLay is still on the outs and Rangel sleeps cozy at night.

I meant to say "neocon" and not "RINO".

I don't like him because he was a free-spending neocon and not a true fiscal conservatie (not by a long shot, actually).

Unfortunately, GWB and Delay represesent what is wrong with the Republican Party.

He is its past - and hopefully not its future.

I agree that he is being wrongfully hounded by an out-of-control prosecutor (who probably wants to run for Congress or governor of Texas one day) in a criminal proceeding designed to permit the prosecutor to make his bones.

I hope that Delay stomps him at trial.

I wanted Delay to demand a speedy trial (2 or so years ago when the ham sandwich indictment was handed up because I think that the prosecutor is shooting blanks.

In any event, I don't think he has broken any criminal laws and I hope that he doesn't cop a plea to excessive vehicle noise or some other nonsense designed to avoid a costly trial and still leave the prosecutor with a fig leaf of credibility.

If you'd read DeLay's book, you'd know he has no intention of copping a plea. The man has cojones. Unlike a lot of men I've met in my day!

Yeehaw, Gayle Miller! I bought and read his book. Mayhaps, it's left me biased, but the man seemed to come forth with integrity.

DeLay was targeted because Republican caucus rules require any indicted leader to step down. DeLay's performance as Majority Leader drove Dems crazy - he suckered them at every turn. Dems wanted him gone, so they did what they do best. Criminalize opponents.

Texas Dems were insanely bitter and despised DeLay for engineering a long overdue redistricting that ended Dem legislative majorities.

Ronnie Earle, the Travis County district attorney, and known political hack, who prosecuted DeLay had to convene THREE GRAND Juries before he could get an indictment. Even then, there were no crimes in the indictment to try him on.

All this is why some people, not as grounded as I, see targeted nuclear strikes on Dem enclaves as prudent, and necessary. Dealing with Dems is like dealing with the Taliban. Only a fool thinks it can be done.

All depends upon the meaning of "dealing with." Nuke 'em. It's the only way to be sure.

Why pursue this Birther thang further? I want Obomba to be running in 2012. Tho, in honesty, I wanted him in 2008, he was so clearly the weakest Dem in the field.

And on Tom Delay, next time I get arrested, I want to remember how to have a mug shot taken.

because it's a legitimate issue that's obviously poison.

I read a piece that had a great writeup on how it would be incredibly difficult to forge a Birth certificate. The short story is that while you could generate one that looked legit it would be next to impossible to forge one with all the proper data on it. There are sequential numberings, originating form numbers as well as other BS. One would have to "destroy" a real one from the same hospital on the same day at about the same time and then reinvent the "New one", or try to squeeze one in the middle. For the former someone would have to disappear, and the later the numbers would not jibe.

My bet is we will never see one.(Even in the presidential library if he ever gets one)
Some questions: Has anyone , under oath, admitted to seeing his Birth certificate? Who vetted him when he ran for the Senate? Would the FBI check it out for national security reasons and then just keep their mouth shut? Does Barry like the distraction of the Birth cert. so he can paint critics as Loons?

Buler?......... Buler?.........
