I don't know if it is my age, or the politcal climate these days or what, but I am finding myself unable to enjoy Family Guy and The Simpsons as much as I used to.
I always shrugged off the libby leanings of both in the past as just Hollywood, but last night I was watching a syndicated episode of Family Guy and got discusted enough to change it... much to my younger ones chagrin...

The Simpson's has become decidedly more political - and leftist - lately. As I said once before, I think it's in response to South Park, whose creators while not Republicans, do hate Liberals, and often poke fun at the Simpsons. Speaking for myself, I look at everything through a political prism anymore, and hate that it's come to that. But, it has.

Rog, I certainly look at the entertainment choices I make through a political prism.
I no longer watch the Simpsons or Letterman,I won't watch any of the Law&Order shows or re-runs of the
X-Files since I found out that the chick who plays Scully is a Global Warming believer. I can't bear to watch anything Oliver Stone or Stephen Speilberg puts out.
Robbins,Penn,Sarandon,Clooney and a host of others such as Alex Baldwin, Rosie O'Doughnuts, and any other lefty actor who thinks that just because they make big bucks pretending to be people they are not, that their political opinion means any more than the average guy who goes to see their little flick and thus helps pay for their sometimes lavish high falootin' lifestyles.
What really chaps my arse about these douchenbaggers is when the enemy wins, they'll be the first to go along with the gays, the jews and the gypsies and they seem to think that if they help the bad guys win, somehow they'll be spared.
I won't see or let my kids pay to see Avatard and when it comes out on cable,I'll be in the room with them to point out the lefty propaganda that I've read the film is full of.
All I can say is thank god that there is a full liftime of good America loving films out there that were made mostly before the 1960's to watch and some show's on TV that are good entertainment without pushing a particular political viewpoint.
It's too bad you have to first wade through all the crap, before you can find the good ones.
When I want to be entertained that's all I want from the performers,I'll get my politics from the founders thank you very
much.
Actors can shove their politics..just amuse me like the little organ-grinders' monkey that you are. I promise then,I'll put a coin in your cup.

Amen to ALL of that!

(...and here I thought it was just ME being over-reactionary...!)

...As an aside...I've never understood entertainers who piss off large numbers of their "customers" by opining their personal beliefs in public. Doesn't gain them anything and guarantees that they lose clientele. Better to remain silent and just keep cashing the checks.

When I first saw the trailer for Avatar, I was pretty excited. The special effects in 3D looked to be killer. Alas, it's leftyness has killed another one for me.

After The Dark Knight came out and there were numerous comparisons between George Bush and Batman, wow, the lefties had their hair on fire-"No way" they screamed. Now that I liked.

How come there haven't been any Iraq war movies with us as the heros? They would clean up.

I've said it before but it's worth repeating. I dont watch anything with Susan Sarandon in it, but Thelma and Louise had a happy ending.

I'm still a fool for Hockey Night in Canada and Coaches Corner though. I'm voting for Don Cherry on the next presdential go round. How about them Leafs?
