Claim: shade won't melt.

Say, couldn't you just light the candle and relax with a couple of cocktails while the lamp waxes itself? Something to do during your next power failure Rodge.......

Years ago I knew guys who got stoned and made wierd things by melting crayons on candles. Kinda pretty but I guess you had to share their level of altered conscienceness to fully appriciate them.

As a kid I melted plastic army guys on my desk lamp while I was supposed to be doing home work. Wound up stinking up the house and getting in trouble.
Ya think I might could get a job with these guys? - 2/11/10, 10:39 AM

I must not have an artistic side.
To me it just looks like a lamp that some big bird took a shit on. - 2/11/10, 11:56 AM

I've never seen so much hype about something so simple. It's pretty much just a junior high art project.
Impossible Lamp is made from pure wax
No, it isn't. The clear shade is covered with a friggin' melted candle. La-dee-da.
It is powered by a liquid-cooled LED bulb
I'm calling BS. LEDs emit so little heat it's hard to measure. They need no cooling. If it was, where is the liquid coolant taking the heat?
Four dipwads take a time-lapse of them melting a candle with heat guns. Yawn.

Guano is cheaper. They should have put the shade in Piazza San Marco. Guano is free there.
Did they buy their carbon credits? - 2/11/10, 10:32 PM
