I guess they expected us not to notice that the guy with the contrary opinion was talking about something completely else. He was talking about red light cameras. The piece (and the protest) is about speed cameras.

Photo radar is crap: it is not about traffic safety it is about revenue.
We should burn them down if the law is not changed soon. - 2/6/10, 8:49 PM

Red Light Camera's are worse.
A Red Light camera wouldn't have saved that guy's loved one. The camera's do nothing to stop red-light-runners (who oftentimes run the light simply by accident).
Here in Lynnwood Wa, the have Red Light cameras everywhere and they get your for any minor infraction. Do a simple hollywood stop? There's $120 to the company and city. Its revenue for the City.
Red light cameras should be banned - simply lengthening the yellow light saves more lives than any camera. - 2/6/10, 11:04 PM

greg--annnd prevents the increase of rear-end collisions that usually accompany the installation of red-light cameras.

Paul Babeu promised during his campaign that he'd get rid of speed cameras in Pinal county.
Interesting note: The reporter is on the 51 which is in Maricopa county not Pinal county. - 2/7/10, 10:59 AM
