I was born in Cahokia, when it was pretty much a company town for Monsanto and a handful of other plants.
I moved away in the early 1980s.
It is now a suburb of East St. Louis, which will serve as an ignominious end to a rather storied existence. - 3/4/10, 12:13 PM
