I alternate between Medved and Hannity on my way home from college. I like him, I listen to him, but there are moments when I cringe and wonder if he isn't a reformed liberal, letting some things shine through. I've heard him subtly attack Beck and the like, by saying how dangerous it is to say we're "taking our country back" and what not. A little curious.
I can't listen to the link, I will when I get home. My nets being Olbermanny :-(
RE Mike Medved:"Wonder if...he isn't a reformed liberal"
He is and a pretty sincere & smart guy.
Sometimes he wanders off beaten path.
I don't agree with most of the radio show commentators Even Rush is too middle of the road for me. He doesn't own a gun, never served his country, never hunts, too urban in his outlook.
I can barely stand to listen to Hannity, he sounds like a broken record, a cheerleader for the right (which is not always a bad thing) and Sean lacks the ability to think on his feet.
Dennis Preager, Lars Larson, and Mark Levin all have Hanity beat in the smart & eloquent department. And Lars packs a gun and advocates for other citizens to do likewise.
RAK
Medved was a big supporter of Bush's immigration plan. If you want a real conservative....it's Mark Levin!
Wikipedia says, "When the [civil] war began, the American standing army or "Regular army" consisted of only 1080 commissioned officers and 15,000 enlisted men." "In the wake of secession, many regular officers felt they could not betray loyalty to their home state, as a result some 313 of those officers resigned their commission and in many cases took up arms for the Confederate Army."
So that means about a quarter to a third may overtly come to our side. Just a wild guess anyway.
If you read the Declaration of Independence, The Constitution, and the Bill of rights objectively; To disallow the thought of armed resistance against tyranny is intellectually dishonest, and not rational. It is common knowledge that the civilian population has a right and a duty to defend itself. (The thought of it makes the hair stand up on the back of my neck, but reality is reality) I think that the guys with the big microphones know we are in a "Pressure Cooker" and want to be on the record as "Far away" from violence as they can, of course this is at the expense of their integrity.
Hannity is OK, a little too light sometimes, and yes a broken record at times as well.
I like Savage and Humphries myself, as well as a Local here, Stigal
Sadly, most members of today's military forces did not enlist out of patriotism, but rather for job training or a career.
Regarding political motivation, 'Captain' Tom Hanks said it all in Saving Private Ryan...
"You're not here to do the right thing. You're here to follow f***ing orders!"

"Army Vet"
What kinda job training did all these young 11Bravos sign up for?
I think you're spouting the Leftist mantra of they "just joined cause they couldn't get a job". BS!
Patriotic young folks are STILL AROUND AND JOINING for that reason.
RAK
From my experience, RAK is spot on.
For my money, Michael Savage is the best "big picture" man of the bunch, and the deepest thinker, clearly identifying long-term trends and putting together the pieces and parts into a coherent sum.
Mark Levin does a great job of analysing modern events in historical perspective. His book "Liberty and Tyranny" is pure gold. Should be required reading for ever damned person in line at a polling place.

The police and military were more than happy to disarm law-abiding citizens in New Orleans after Katrina. Google it, look it up on youtube, see for yourself. They'll do what they are told. Maybe a few will refuse direct orders, but most will fall in line.
It works like this -- Natural Disaster/Emergency = excuse to suspend your God-given rights to life, property and the means to secure both. No more 2nd Amendment. So when the dollar collapses if you think for one second the Military won't be called in to sweep door-to-door and confiscate weapons you're a fool. It's that simple.

Then a lot of them will die on front porches and they will become a lot less gung-ho about knocking on front doors.
A thought came to me yesterday while I was in a debate with a "Progressive" that comments on my blog regularly.
"When did cops become "Law enforcement" and not "Peace Officers" (Subtle wording, Big difference in philosophy)

Your right, Idaho Hunter, they will stop knocking on front doors and just crash through the walls with some kind of Tank instead. You know, like in Waco!

U.S. military members are not trained to be robots.
"I vaz just folloving orders" crap, hopefully, ended forever at a place called Nuremberg.
Every soldier, sailor, airman and marine, enlisted, commissioned, and non-commissioned officer has a duty to disobey an unlawful order.
God bless the Oathkeepers!
Help spread their word among our younger, sometimes sadly ignorant, military members.
