Whu God Gave Us B-52s

The End of Mexico? Excerpt

….Last week, at least 30 Mexicans from the town of El Porvenir walked to the border crossing post at Fort Hancock, Texas, and asked for political asylum. Ordinarily, their claim would be denied as groundless, and they would be turned back. Instead, they were taken to El Paso, where they expect to have their cases heard.

No one doubts that they have a strong claim. Their town on the Mexican side of the border is under siege by one or more drug cartels battling for control of the key border crossing. According to Mike Doyle, the chief deputy sheriff of Hudspeth County, Texas, one of the cartels has ordered all residents of the town of 10,000 to abandon the city within the next month.

“They came in and put up a sign in the plaza telling everyone to leave or pay with their own blood,” Doyle said. Since then there has been a steady stream of El Porvenir residents seeking safety on the American side of the border, both legally and illegally. Among them are the 30 who are seeking political asylum.

In recent days the situation in the impoverished, dusty border town has grown worse. According to Jose Franco, the superintendent of schools in Fort Hancock, the cartels have threatened to execute children in school unless parents pay 5000 pesos in protection money.

I thought we had addressed this about a hundred years ago w/ the Pancho Villa Mexican Expedition.

how bad of an incident will we need until the power that be finally fortify the border? I am not talking sending unarmed National Guard, but installing concertina wire, minefield, and free fire zones?

A murder here and there is not enough. Will the banditos cease and slaughter an entire town before we get serious?

No. One town will not be enough. It will take two or three, and even then, it will be the states themselves that will have to act. Causing irreconsilable differences with the corrupt Federales (ours, not theirs). Then we'll really see some problems.

Part of me says God Speed, the other part says I hope not. I'm not sure which part needs to ask for forgiveness.

I'm always facinated by people who say that legalizing drugs will end this problem. Like the way organized crime disappeared after prohibition ended. Now the thugs want 'protection' money. Sure.

So they're having trouble in their town. That is certainly bad, and they have my sympathy. However, had this been in a town in central or southern Mexico, would this even be an issue? They have a whole country to escape within, and they end up here? Nope.... just another bullshit excuse for illegal aliens to stay here. If I get into it with my neighbors in Havre Montana, do I get to claim political asylum in Canada?

Well after all the residents leave, it's an armed camp and a clear and present danger. Don't we have some neutron warheads that need quality testing?
