Thank you so much for this post. Art Linkletter was the real deal, wasn't he? A decent man.
This clip took me back to when I was a kid and watched the show in blk/wht. Notice how all of the children could answer Bible questions? [to the "best" of their abilities.] Another America, for certain.

My favorite: On one show, he asked a little boy, "What do your parents do to have fun?" The kid replied, "I don't know. They close the door."

Or how about the one where he asked the kid where his dad was, and the kid said, "In prison." We watched this and "Queen For a Day" every afternoon in my parents house....yes, in black and white 'til l972.
