scream-of-consciousness; "If you're trying to change minds and influence people it's probably not a good idea to say that virtually all elected Democrats are liars, but what the hell."
"Why can't Arizona be as inhospitable as they wish to people who have entered or remained in the United States?"

"If the number of Islamic terror attacks continues at the current rate, candlelight vigils will soon be the number-one cause of global warming. " |

Roi, you took the quote from the Washington Post which means that it is not to be trusted. The Judge actually said "Why can't Arizona be as inhospitable as they wish to people who have entered or remain in the U.S. unlawfully?"
Talk about taking quotes out of context. I also saw the quote ending in the word illegally.
please sir, may I have some more!
I'm getting a little tired of my side mischaracterizing sanctuary cities. Get it right:
The sanctuary cities do not nullify Federal law because they know they can't. They simply state they will not check immigration status or turn people over to INS even if they know them to be illegal. INS is free to operate on its own but it will get no cooperation from that city.
Stop using that as a counter argument to AZ's 1070, it's not equivalent.
AWM
Well ... if AZ can't check immigration status for the purpose of enforcing immigration laws, they can regulate their own citizens.
I think making hiring an illegal, renting a home to an illegal, selling him food, giving him a glass of water, or even talking to him can be made a felony for citizens of the State of Arizona, without tripping on any federal nexus.
Kristopher said it very well!
