Shouldn’t be any problems. Looks as if your vents are on the top side, that should aid in cooling. Years ago (OK, maybe 10 or so, not that long ago) I used to hear that you should run the hard drive in the position that it was formatted in (almost sounds like a comment for the pic below eh?), however I doubt that applies today. Cooling is probably your number one concern today..

You may have problems with your DVD/CD drive, but other than that and the cooling dave pointed out you should have no problems.

My fifteen year old says it causes problems w/ the DVD/CD-ROM. They are made to spin in a horizontal position. The vertical position may scratch them and ruin your discs.

There shouldn't be any problems with your CD/DVD drive. The danger is in changing the PC's orientation while a disc is spinning. So breathe easy, Rodge.

Sounds like that would make text run vertically on the monitor. I think they make a video-cable adapter for that, though. Not sure how that would affect your stereo sound.
(Turing word: ingsted. You could buy a laptop, ingsted.) - 7/7/10, 4:28 PM

DaveInFla,
YEARS ago, I turned a unit on its side or put the drive in a new case, I can't remember which, the hard drive failed. Turned it back to the same alignment it was before and the drive worked fine.
Someone told me the same thing. Then again that was probably a 20 meg drive. - 7/7/10, 4:45 PM

Spend $30 and buy a USB CD/DVD unit, it will be by your keyboard and you wont have to get on the floor to change the media. There will be no other problems.
